The Upper Keys is a unique environment harboring some of the rarest animals in the U.S. This is one of the best places to look for Mangrove Cuckoo and Black-whiskered Vireo in the tropical hardwood hammocks. Windley Key State Historical Site has shady trails which could be full of migrating warblers and songbirds. Anne's Beach on a low tide can be super for shorebirds and Reddish Egret. A stop at secret shoreline is the best in the Middle Keys for shorebirds. We search for kettles of migrating hawks along the way.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 23

Lower Keys Exploration
7:00 am - 5:00 pm ($90)

Birding along the roads of Big Pine and No Name Keys will give us our best look at the small and endangered Key Deer. These islands should also give clear views for migrating kettles of hawks and flybys of White-crowned Pigeon. A stop at Boca Chica beach for our best chance for a variety of shorebirds. Then heading south to Key West to the bird famous Ft. Zachary Taylor State Park. It has a variety of habitats which should be good for migrating warblers, possible Thrushes and Grosbeaks. Other stops include Sugarloaf Key and Indigenous Park.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 24

David Choices - Finding the Best Birds
7:00 am - 5:00 pm ($90)

Depending on what rare or target birds have been found or missed over the weekend, David will develop an itinerary to go out and find the best birds.
